Capacity Utilization vs CPI

Here's an excellent chart from Econompicdata showing year-over-year changes in capacity utilization together with year-over-year change in consumer price index. The CPI series is lagged by six months.


The overlap shows that a decrease in capacity utilization is followed several months later by a decrease in CPI.
