New Symbols for Options Contracts

I didn't hear about this until this week - the Options Clearing Corporation is going to get rid of the existing three- to five-character option symbol and replace it with "a new symbol that will more clearly identify the underlying security."

"With the new, more descriptive symbol, you'll be able to see the essential information about an option immediately, saving time and avoiding confusion."
