Stanford Puts $1 Billion in Assets on Block

Hilarious - "as much as $1 billion of hard-to-sell investments ranging from private equity to real estate to timberland as it seeks to raise cash."

These university endowment fund managers were writing books about their clever strategy of investing in illiquid assets. This is called the "Yale Model" for Yale's PM David Swensen.
