"A eulogy for RadioShack, the panicked and half-dead retail empire" $RSH

Great essay from a Radio Shack former employee:

"I am not letting up on RadioShack, a machine that sometimes operates in a way that could be confused with malevolence, hammering away at good people until they are a heap of dust and a plastic name tag."
And an amusing comment on the possibility of a Radio Shack turnaround:
"Does anyone really think that the corporate HQ that built the culture described in this article is every going to live up to your dreams of this cozy little shop where you get all your Makerbot needs and rub shoulders with the Woz while digging through a bucket of capacitors?

Every mention of Radio Shack on the blue is full of this rose-tinted 1970's silicon valley view of the store, and has no real bearing on how useless (and dare I say corporately evil) they've been for the past few decades."

Happy Thanksgiving to CP and all the CBS regulars!

It looks like SG they reduced their equity "fee" in exchange for board control?

I wonder what they would do differently than current management? Maybe they wouldn't have let employees take their lunch break today?

Of course, this only happens when the rights offering happens and if they make the equity investment - none of which is seeming likely anymore.

corporately evil

Ouch.

Some panic appears justified.
